A Swinging Soirée at

Renowned Hotel Suite

May 20, 2018   |     things to do

On Thursday, April 5, mixology icon Albert Trummer and Wander PR transformed The Biltmore Hotel’s historic Everglades Suite into an upscale bacchanal worthy of the Jazz Age and 1930s glamour. The 13th floor penthouse, infamously known as “The Al Capone Suite” (since he loved to stay there), was host to an invitation-only pop-up speakeasy. The Great Gables treated select media and VIPs to Trummer’s specially-designed cocktails – including “The Biltmore,” created just for the property – champagne from Moët & Chandon, cognac from Hennessy, rum from Miami Club Rum, hors d’oeuvres from Fontana Italian Restaurant, music by Saunders Sound, private tours, and a tantalizing burlesque show.

The synergy between New York and Miami, along with the timeless allure of The Biltmore Hotel and its storied, 13th-floor suite, was a key motivator for Trummer to host the one-of-a-kind event in Coral Gables. “Miami and New York are soul mates,” says Trummer. “As an entrepreneur and a creative, I make sure to follow the energy. Both cities are known for pushing limits and producing a great music, art, cocktail, and food scene as a result.”

Attendees enjoyed a full sensory experience of Trummer’s most artful and luxurious cocktails. The menu took guests on a glamorous journey through the opulent cocktail experience hand-crafted by Trummer and including extraordinary ingredients by Paris Gourmet, with each mélange of spirits and elixirs bringing them to a different “course” of the bar chef’s menu. His unique recipes are already lauded as among the most inventive and delicious. The Austrian-born star of the food and beverage world has successfully launched several trendy NYC spots like Apothèke, Sanatorium, and S’zen Cocktail Lounge (at Hotel on Rivington) as well as Miami’s The Library at the Shelborne South Beach. He is also working on a new high-end concept with the next Trummer generation, his son Jakob, called The Atelier in Manhattan’s Lower East Side.

“Bringing people together in unique ways to create unforgettable experiences is why we wander,” says Adriana Sol, President of Wander PR. “We know that stepping outside the traditional PR box helps create significance for the amazing brands we work with. We help cut through the noise and have a lot of fun in the process!” Wander, with teams in New York and London, worked closely with Trummer to coordinate all aspects of The Great Gables, from guest list and invites to menu and entertainment.

Philippe Parodi, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for The Biltmore Hotel, believes the event is in line with the hotel’s legacy, its historic significance, and its place in the future. “Partnering with innovators like Albert, who can come in and create a special night, demonstrates the Biltmore is a unique place where truly special things happen,” says Parodi. “The kind of celebration you can have here is like nowhere else in the world. We expect to offer more one-of-a-kind experiences for our guests and for the City of Coral Gables."

The Great Gables was brought to life by a group of amazing sponsors that makes it all happen:  Moët Hennessy, Miami Club Rum, Paris Gourmet, The Biltmore Hotel and Wander PR. To see where Albert Trummer goes next, please email marilu@wanderpr.com.
