Summer is coming in hot, which means a sizzling lineup of delectable culinary experiences. Below, we have rounded up some of the hottest new summer menus across South Florida. Mehzcla at The Balfour Hotel
A nod to The Balfour Hotel’s Miami Beach heritage, Mehzcla combines a variety of Latin American culinary influences and welcomes guests for brunch, dinner and happy hour.
This month, the restaurant has launched a new daily brunch and summer menu.
Locals and visitors to the South of Fifth neighborhood can indulge in brunch plates every day, including the
Miami Benedict ($21), a South Florida spin on the classic dish paired with Cuban toast and tangy mojo pork in a cilantro hollandaise sauce, or the
Cauliflower Power Bowl ($18), made with roasted cauliflower, ancient grains, Tuscan kale and calabaza in green goddess dressing.
Those visiting for dinner can savor the
Pork Belly ($15), served with sweet plantain fufu, salsa criolla and pickled red onions;
Jalea Mixta ($18), a combination of Key West shrimp, squid and yuquitas with a criolla and aji-mayo sauce; or the
Smash Frita Burger ($18), an Angus-blend patty on a brioche bun topped with aged cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onions, awesome sauce and optional fried egg a caballo style.
Cooper’s Hawk
Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, the modern-casual restaurant and wine club on the second level of The Galleria in Fort Lauderdale, is welcoming summer with a brand-new menu for June.
The seasonal menu includes an exclusive wine of the month, Isola del Mare, which was carefully selected by Cooper’s Hawk wine experts to pair alongside its limited-time offerings. The classic Italian-style wine is a harmonious blend of cabernet franc and merlot with very little oak influence, bright acidity and soft earthy notes.
Seasonal menu highlights include the
Ahi Tuna Crudo ($19.99), with shaved fennel, lemon conserva aioli and tomato-caper oil;
Casarecce Capri ($18.99), crafted with shrimp, shaved asparagus and roasted tomatoes; and
Filet Medallions & Spinach Mascarpone Ravioli ($39.99), served with asparagus and arugula salad and topped with brown butter cream and aged balsamic.
To top the meal off, guests can indulge in the Banoffee Pie ($10.99), filled with layers of graham cracker crust, banana, toffee filling and fresh whipped cream.

KAO Bar & Grill
Just in time for summer, experienced restaurateur Matias Pagano and The KAO Group (the minds behind South America’s renowned Sushi Club concepts, KAO Sushi & Grill in Coral Gables and J&J Fresh Kitchen in Boca Raton) have officially opened the first KAO Bar & Grill container restaurant concept in the heart of Hallandale Beach.
The expansive 5,000-square-foot restaurant made entirely from recycled shipping containers features an alfresco patio and a 14-seat bar, perfect for big celebrations or intimate nights out. In terms of cuisine, guests can expect flavorful Argentine grill-inspired dishes, including shareable tablitas (grilled platters), Argentine-style pizzas, signature fusion sandwiches and more.
Standout menu items include delicious appetizers such as the
Tablita Parilla ($24), Argentine chorizo, blood sausage, churrasco, grilled peppers and toasted slices of bread with chimichurri, or Tablita de Empanadas ($16), choice of beef, ham and cheese, or spinach (vegan) empanadas with a side of criolla sauce.
The menu also has a variety of sandwiches and handhelds, including Tango Sliders ($15), Angus mini burgers with cheddar cheese and homemade aioli on brioche buns with a side of chimichurri, and Lomito Sandwich ($22), grilled beef, lettuce, tomatoes, ham, cheese and fried eggs with homemade aioli served on a French baguette.
The stars of the menu are specialty Argentine staples like the
Special Pizza ($15), with mozzarella, ham, olives, roasted red peppers and oregano, and
Choripan ($17), Argentine-style sausage and chimichurri on ciabatta bread.

MaryGold’s Florida Brasserie, the sophisticated yet approachable modern restaurant at Arlo Wynwood from the minds of renowned chef Brad Kilgore and award-winning hospitality agency Bar Lab, has launched a brand-new menu just in time for summer.
The revamped menu highlights stylish American cuisine crafted with both global influence and Wynwood flair.
Updated menu items include an entirely new raw bar section offering

The Deck at Island Gardens
The Deck at Island Gardens, Miami’s premier waterfront lounge and bar, is serving seven new cocktails with fresh, tropical ingredients and floral notes to mimic the season.
Inspired by the restaurant’s lush outdoor ambiance and adjacent megayacht marina, the new cocktails ($19 each) include the Biscayne Breeze, with tequila blanco, homemade lychee purée, butterfly pea flower syrup and yellow chartreuse; Take Me to St. Tropez, with St-Germain, fresh cucumber water and green chartreuse topped with prosecco; and The Islander, with dark rum, Grand Marnier, coconut cream, pineapple juice and bitters topped with a mint bouquet (served in a fresh coconut on Sundays for $26).

Orno
Located inside THesis Hotel Miami in Coral Gables, Orno is a modern restaurant with an open-kitchen concept helmed by five-time James Beard Award nominee and Food & Wine’s “Best New Chef of 2020” Niven Patel.
Also named “Best New Restaurant” by Miami New Times, Orno offers guests a true farm-to-table experience using locally sourced ingredients from Chef Patel’s very own farm, Rancho Patel. The menu consists of new-American cuisine featuring the finest selection of meats and seafood.

Orno launched their brunch menu last November, which will now also introduce some new seasonal menu items including the delectable Shakshuka ($18) with a farm egg, Castelvetrano olive, goat milk feta and sour dough. As far as cocktails go, Orno brighted things up for this summer with delicious new drink additions including the 24 Carrot Martini ($18), Ipanema ($18), Tokyo Sour ($20) and Mango Fizz ($17) - perfect for South Florida mango season.
