Miami Beach Yacht Club (MBYC) Shines at Art Basel with ‘Windows of the Sea’

In the heart of Miami’s dazzling Art Basel festivities, the Miami Beach Yacht Club (MBYC) made a resounding statement on December 5 with its inaugural event, ‘Windows of the Sea’. Held in collaboration with Culturin, this evening of art, culture, and ocean advocacy took place on the stunning 55th floor of the Aston Martin Residences, offering panoramic

views of Miami’s iconic skyline.

Led by visionary CEO Simon Librati, MBYC once again demonstrated its commitment to uniting luxury and social responsibility. “‘Windows of the Sea’ was more than an event—it was a celebration of art’s ability to inspire change while supporting vital ocean conservation efforts,” Librati shared during the event.

Art Meets Advocacy

As a marine-based company, MBYC leveraged its platform to bring attention to ocean conservation. Partnering with organizations such as Project Zero and The Coral Collective, the event underscored the urgent need for protecting marine ecosystems and combating the climate crisis. Guests were moved by media displays and a compelling video presentation that showcased these organizations' pivotal work.

“Our partnership with Project Zero underscores our dedication to sustainability,” Librati explained. “At MBYC, we recognize the responsibility we have as a marine-based company to offset the environmental impacts of yachting.”

A Grand Arrival

The evening began in style, with guests embarking aboard PURA VIDA, MBYC’s luxurious 95-foot Sunseeker yacht. Seamlessly combining sleek design and innovative features, the yacht offered an elegant prelude to the grandeur of the night.

Upon arriving at the Aston Martin Residences, attendees were welcomed into a gallery of bold, evocative works by renowned artist Amani Lewis. Curated by the esteemed Destinee Ross-Sutton, Lewis’s multimedia creations invited deep conversations on themes of resilience and identity, leaving a lasting impression on all who experienced them.

A Culinary and Musical Journey

The celebration’s culinary offerings elevated the evening to new heights. Guests enjoyed champagne and caviar served on blinis with crème fraîche, followed by a gourmet menu that featured dishes such as salmon piña coladasfilet mignon, and a decadent flan dessert from Casa Matilda Steakhouse. For those seeking plant-based options, Da Vegan Guru presented flavorful vegan creations that impressed even the most discerning palates.

As the night unfolded, DJ Walter Gomes kept the energy high with a mix of old-school classics and contemporary hits, while the soulful saxophone melodies of Jon Saxx added a touch of sophistication to the atmosphere.

A Star-Studded Affair

The guest list read like a who’s-who of art, sports, and entertainment. Prominent attendees included:

  • Former City of Miami Gardens Councilman Reggie Leon

  • NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire

  • Supermodel Maria Borges

  • Actor Paul Hutchinson

With its thoughtful blend of purpose and elegance, MBYC has set a high bar for future events, proving that luxury can—and should—be a force for good.
