The vibrant streets of Lincoln Road are buzzing with artistic energy as two breathtaking public art installations have been unveiled, adding a touch of magic to Art Week Miami Beach. Spearheaded by City of Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, Lyle Stern (President of the Lincoln Road Business Improvement District), and a host of city commissioners and community leaders, the unveiling introduces “XO World” by artist Daniel Anderson and “Dream Machine” by artist Rubem Robierb. These striking sculptures bring a dynamic mix of creativity, meaning, and interactivity to one of Miami Beach’s most iconic destinations.
“XO World” by Daniel Anderson
Standing tall at 17 feet high and 24 feet long, “XO World” is a monumental sculpture by contemporary abstract artist Daniel Anderson. Drawing inspiration from the universal childhood game of jacks, the sculpture features an “X” (resembling a jack, also known as the “love jack”) and an “O” represented by a globe. The “X” symbolizes love in sign language and represents four key pillars: equality, unity, peace, and love. Meanwhile, the globe reflects the idea of humanity coming together as one.
This 20,000-pound stainless steel masterpiece not only showcases Anderson’s artistic genius but also his passion for humanitarian causes. Unveiled in partnership with the XO World Project Foundation, the sculpture highlights important issues like equal access to healthcare, food security, water resources, and women’s economic empowerment. Marking Anderson’s debut in Art Week Miami Beach and Florida, “XO World” will grace the 400 block of Lincoln Road until June 2025.
“Dream Machine” by Rubem Robierb
For those looking to interact with art, Rubem Robierb’s “Dream Machine” offers a mesmerizing experience. This 10-by-13-foot butterfly wing sculpture invites viewers to step into its center, creating a metaphorical space to reflect on their dreams and aspirations. Symbolizing the materialization of wishes, the “Dream Machine” embodies the power of the mind and the magic of the law of attraction.
The installation has already made waves with its previous displays aboard the Celebrity Edge cruise ship and in Tribeca Park, NYC, in collaboration with Taglialatella Galleries. Now, the stunning wings find a new home on Lincoln Road, offering locals and visitors alike the chance to snap an unforgettable photo while pondering the infinite possibilities of life. “Dream Machine” will be on display until April 2025.
Art Meets Community on Lincoln Road
Mayor Meiner and the team behind these installations have once again cemented Lincoln Road’s reputation as a hub of culture and creativity. “These sculptures are more than just art—they’re a reflection of our shared humanity and the dreams that unite us,” said Mayor Meiner during the unveiling.
Whether you’re exploring the symbolic themes of “XO World” or stepping into the vibrant wings of “Dream Machine”, these installations offer something for everyone to appreciate during Miami Art Week and beyond. Don’t miss the chance to experience these awe-inspiring works of art while enjoying the bustling energy of Lincoln Road.
