Billboard Latin Music Week 2023

Billboard Latin Music Week, the biggest week in Latin music, returned to the Faena Forum in Miami Beach to celebrate Latin music, culture, and entertainment.


The first day of the sold-out event, was jam-packed with exclusive panels, workshops, and activations spotlighting Latin’s top hitmakers, influencers, and industry leaders including Fuerza Regida’s frontman JOP joining forces with LiveNation to discuss The Rise of Mexican Music Touring, Luminate’s CEO Rob Jonas exclusively unveiling the company’s latest Latin Music Report in a presentation covering topics from subgenres to super fans, CAA’s Head of Global Latin Music Touring Group, Bruno Del Granado sitting down with Festival Viña del Mar’s producer Daniel Merino and more!

The first night of Billboard Latin Music Week will wrap with a Billboard En Vivo intimate performance presented by Michelob ULTRA featuring the powerhouse Colombian singers Greeicy and Mike Bahía who will take the stage at the Faena Theater. Over at M2 night club, Billboard will also celebrate an Official Billboard Latin Music Week Kickoff Party presented by AP Global Music with live performances by Venesti, Maffio, Nacho, Bernier, Gonza, and Alejo, hosted by DJ Alex Sensation.

The festivities will continue tomorrow with can’t miss panels featuring Carin León and Pedro Capó, Sebastián Yatra, Peso Pluma, Chencho Corleone and Vico C, Ivy Queen, Young Miko, Nathy Peluso, Maria Becerra and more followed by The Nicky Jam Rockstar Show and Billboard En Vivo with Peso Pluma.

Day one kicked off with the Everything You Wanted To Know About Billboard, But Were Too Afraid To Ask panel featuring Assistant editor Jessica Roiz, Latin charts senior analyst Pamela Bustios, social media manager Ingrid Fajardo, and Billboard Español deputy editor, Sigal Ratner-Arias where they celebrated one year of Billboard Español and discussed topping the charts, pitching tips and award show insights followed by a Q&A with Latin Music attendees.

CN Bank’s Vice president and Team Leader, Rodrigo Nieto-Galvis sat down for a conversation, How To Manage Your First Big Paycheck: Step 1, Don’t Buy That Exotic Car Presented by CN Bank, with Chief Content Officer, Billboard Latin/Español, Leila Cobo to discuss best practices when managing and protecting your music revenues, the nuances of international finances and the importance of having a trustworthy team to aid your career.

The Rise of Mexican Music Touring: Presented by Live Nation, Fuerza Regida's frontman JOP sat down with Live Nation’s Hans Schafer and Jorge Garcia for a conversation with Griselda Flores, Senior Writer, Billboard Latin, on the beginnings of Mexican Music touring, the rise of the genre today, and where Mexican Music touring is headed. The panel explored the touring process from conception to execution and highlighted strategic promotional tactics that have proven successful in the past, including JOP and Fuerza Regida performing a song in public ahead of their concert in order to promote the show, which led to Fuerza Regida’s Otra Peda Tour to sell out in top markets.


In a panel presented by Rimas Publishing, Emilio Morales, Managing director, Rimas Publishing, sat down with singer-songwriter Lyanno and Enrique Marquez París, Songwriter & Publishing Relations, Latin Music, Spotify to explore the best ways to maximize your songwriting and production revenue.

President of Billboard Mike Van shared statistics on Billboard's increased brand awareness, highlighted Latin Music Weeks exponential growth over the years and teased the audience with international events to come. Billboard's Chief Brand Officer, Dana Droppo paid tribute to Latin Music Week’s non-profit partners, Con Cora Foundation and Green Haven Project.


The Power of Latin Catalog: Presented by Harbourview, Hannah Karp, Editorial Director for Billboard sat down with Sherreese Clarke Soares, Founder and CEO of Harbourview, Denny Marte, Founder/Consultant of MPA Advisors, LLC, and Angela “Angie” Martinez, Esq. Attorney at Law, Angie Law, for a conversation about how Latin catalogs are valued, marketed, bought and sold in a global economy sharing insight on how to broker deals through completion for artists looking to sell their catalogs.

The Art of the Festival: Presented by Viña del Mar, Bruno Del Granado, Head of Global Latin Music Touring Group for CAA, invited Chris Den Uhil, Co-founder of La Familia Presenta, John Frias, CEO of Frias Entertainment Group, Inc and Besame Mucho Music Festival, Daniel Merino, Producer for Festival Viña del Mar, and Alfonso Garcia, Primavera Sound LatAm, discussed what goes into behind the scenes of crafting and sustaining a successful Latin Music Festival. The one-of-a-kind panel showcased a reel for the 73rd iteration of Festival Viña del Mar and discussed the festival’s transformation through the years including changes made to its business and operational model.
