They say time flies when you’re having fun and I couldn’t agree more! Miami Vibes has been the best roller coaster I have ever been on. It’s been full of ups and downs (and there have been countless downs) but I would not change one iota of it.
I’ve been asked many times, “what has been your biggest regret?” Had you asked me this four years ago, I would have said, “having the misfortune of falling in love because with that misfortune came a disillusioned future full of wonderful promises, a partner in crime and daily doses of forget me nots.” Ask me today and I will tell you, “I have no regrets.”
With pain, comes growth. Through failure, comes success. What I used to consider a “misfortune” allowed me to emerge into a new person with a fresh perspective on life; that nothing is guaranteed, seize the moment and just go with the flow.
Of all the years of this publication, this one has been by far the best! Not because it was the easiest (in fact, I think every year gets harder and harder) but because of two things: imposters and scammers. This year, there have been five imposter Instagram accounts (going by some variation of miamivibes.mag) who have stolen our logo and even some of our content. At first, I was furious, but then I thought, “hey, we’re so cool that people feel the need to impersonate us to be able to have a worthy presence on social media.” So flattering!
It gets better. For the past three months we have fallen victim to floating job scams claiming that we are offering job opportunities to photographers to shoot in Cali, New York, Nevada and many other states. Again, this made my blood boil. But something great

was happening. Numerous talented photographers from around the U.S have been reaching out to us to find out whether or not these postings have been legit. We’ve had some of the best conversations with these individuals. So, these scammers have not only provided us with some great connections and talent, but have broadened Miami Vibes’ awareness on a national scale. So, thank you scammers. We feel honored to have been a part of your devious plan.
In the end, the best part about this journey hasn’t been about the celebrities I’ve encountered (sure, that’s exciting); rather, more about the connections I have made along the way….that’s been exhilarating!
If I were to leave you with a takeaway, it would be this: have no regrets because you are exactly where you need to be in this very moment of your life. When everything seems like it’s falling apart and the pieces feel too minuscule to pick up, trust that things will get better and you will emerge a greater human being for it. So keep vibin’ and never lose sight at the light at the end of the tunnel.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Cybil Bonhomme
