The Doral Yard

The vibe at Doral Yard is the perfect balance of shabby and chic, all the greenery gives life to the space, the big windows let in the most gorgeous light and the funky furniture adds the perfect pop of color. But let’s get to the real reason why you should come is THE FOOD the yard prides itself in being an incubator for entrepreneurs.
They select different food vendors who otherwise wouldn’t have the means to have their restaurant in the competitive Miami market, and they skillfully select the best! I quickly realized this when I started at “Yip” the first vendor where I had the most amazing fried pork dumplings and crab fried rice of my life.
Then I headed over to “Un pollo” where the waitress recommended the parrillada for 2.This 1/4 chicken, 4 oz piranha,1/2 chorizo,1/2 morcilla, cochi-fritos, steamed yuca, garlic aioli, potatoes and Cole slaw was the definition of delicious. I never expected to get this quality of meat and beautiful presentation in a food hall. All of the meat was cooked to the perfect temperature and the portions were perfect to satisfy me and still have plenty leftover for tomorrow’s lunch.
I paired it with the most refreshing summer cocktails from the bar, I had to try the cocktail of the month “The Bad Bunny” made with Old Forester Bourbon, Pear Belle de Brillet, lime juice, ginger beer, and strawberry.
I got to end it with the long-awaited dessert that caught my eye as soon as i walked in Morelia's palettes, the friendly cashier recommended the strawberry cheesecake palette covered in white chocolate and dipped in Oreos and she did not disappoint! No sweet tooth could resist this tasty treat it was incredible.
As if this was not enough the finale was the food truck outside “Santo Dulce” where I had a churro with ice cream. Not just any plain churro and ice cream. A Nutella and almond churro sitting on top of their most popular ice cream the “ Santa Teresa con Fresa” Vanilla ice cream with fresh berries, peanuts, and my favorite part a Maria cookie.
Doral yard opened in October after the pandemic however this did not stop the creators of the former Wynwood yard into putting in so much work to make their new location in Doral stunning. Amidst a pandemic they wanted to keep the idea to gather from all different places and have a sense of family by brining the community together. They even have live yoga Classes taught by Leslie Cartaya a local who has been owning her practice for years and now has the opportunity to have the space to do it in thanks to Doral yard. They also have live music for you to enjoy over dinner by local talented musicians. I was shocked to find that all this is only the beginning they will be expanding and adding more food trucks in the near future!
